Bella – a lovey 5-year-old crossbreed female was referred to Northwest Referrals with a history of chronic ear infection. Needless to say, how uncomfortable it was for her. She had her ears washed on a daily basis by her owners which wanted the problem to go away once forever. Some polyps also appeared at one stage in her ears which was making her even more uncomfortable.
We decided to do a Computed tomography of the head and we have found out that both ear canals and tympanic bull were affected by a disease process. TECA and lateral bulla osteotomy was performed on both Bellas ears and she made an uneventful recovery. Now after few months since surgery took place she is much more comfortable, pain free and plays her toys like she used in the past – but this time – pain free.
